Innovation in Teaching Award

Criteria: This award recognizes a faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in teaching innovation. This award focuses on teaching techniques employed in the classroom and the development of pedagogy and curriculum. Examples include:

  • Development of innovative teaching pedagogy
  • Integration of innovative instructional design
  • Integration of innovative instructional technology
  • Development of a substantial, innovative new curriculum (e.g., a new major, minor, certificate, M.A.)
  • Development of an innovative new course.

Nomination process: Faculty may be nominated by a faculty or staff member or a student (current or former). A completed nomination form should include basic information about the nominator and nominee, as well as a paragraph of up to 500 words describing the nominee’s exceptional record of teaching innovation.

Decision made by: Faculty Senate Awards Committee with input from the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Winners will present the Faculty Colloquium for Excellence in Teaching in the spring semester.
